Error - Projector could not create the Excel file due to an Excel bug

When opening a report in Excel format (.xls), you may encounter the following error message. Projector could not create the Excel file due to an Excel bug. Try adding an additional field and running the report again

This is due to a known bug in Microsoft Excel 2003-2013 when reports are of a specific file size. Projector continues to use the 2013 version of Excel because many of our clients are still on it.

Solution 1

Edit the report and go to the Page Fields tab. Add another Page Field. Any field will do. The reason this works is because it will add data to the report, which will change the size, which will bypass the bug.
