Absolute Forecast AccuracyForecast Accuracy Fields

Absolute Variance Hours / Absolute Basis Hours. Is always between zero and one hundred percent. At one hundred percent you perfectly forecasted the schedule. At zero percent you were infinitely wrong.

Although similar to the field "Worked % of Forecast," this measurement does not allow for overages and underages to offset one another. This is the more accurate of the two measurements when looking at your forecasting abilities.

Absolute Variance HoursHours Fields

Over Forecasted Hours + Under Forecasted Hours

In total, how far off was your forecast was? Under and over forecasted hours are not offsetting, but additive. So I overforecast 50 hours on one project and underforecast 25 on another, I'm off by 75 absolute variance hours.

Forecasted HoursHours FieldsNumber of hours forecasted
Over Forecasted HoursHours FieldsIf you predicted more hours than you actually worked, you over forecasted
Under Forecasted HoursHours FieldsIf you predicted fewer hours than you actually worked, you under forecasted

Forecasted Hours - Worked Hours

When a positive number, you worked fewer hours than you thought you would.

When a negative number, you worked more hours than you thought you would.

Worked % of ForecastForecast Accuracy Fields

Worked Hours / Forecasted Hours

The percentage that you worked vs. what you thought you would work. If less than 100% then you worked less than you were expecting. If greater than 100% you worked more than you were expecting. Will always be greater than zero percent and has no upper limit.

Although similar to the field "Absolute Forecast Accuracy," this measurement averages out overages and underages.

Worked HoursHours FieldsThe number of hours worked.
