Login Issues

When it comes time to access Projector, you'll need to log into your account. Every user in Projector has their own account. This page explains where to go, how our authentication system works, and what to do if your login isn't working.

Where do I go to login?

There are two areas of Projector that users might need to access. Most people access Projector Web which is our website. From here you can enter time, enter expenses, and perform some management activities. A few people will also need to administer Projector. These people download a software program called Management Portal and run it. These people often need to manage projects, issue invoices, request or book resources, and manage users.

To log into Projector Web you should go to this link: http://app.projectorpsa.com

To log into Management Portal, you should download and install the program at this link (Windows only): https://secure2.projectorpsa.com/ProjectorUI/OpsProjectorUI.application. You can only log into MP if it is enabled on your user profile. Specifically, you must have the general permission Allow access to Management Portal.

What is my username?

Your username is typically your email address. However, some organizations change it to something of their own choosing. In either case, if you are unsure of your username, you should contact your Projector Administrator and ask them what it is.

What is my password?

Projector does not know your password and cannot reset or assign a new password to you. This is to protect your organization's security. If you have forgotten your password, you can request a password reset link sent to you at this address - https://app.projectorpsa.com/forgotpasswordoraccount

Password reset emails should be received within a couple minutes. If they did not come through:

  1. Check your spam or junk mail folders
  2. Ask your Administrator to double check that your email address is correct
  3. Ask your IT team whether your email system is experiencing any technical difficulties
  4. Ask the Projector support team to investigate

What is my account code?

An account code is required for most organizations. If you have forgotten yours, you can have it emailed to you using this site - https://app.projectorpsa.com/forgotpasswordoraccount. Or an easier method may be to just ask one of your co-workers what the code is.

An account code is required when either of these situations occur:

  • Your username is the same in more than one Projector installation
  • Your organization requires account codes (all installations created after Aug-2017 require them)
  • Your organization uses Delegated Authentication or Single Sign On

Password Complexity Rules

If your password is managed by Projector:

  • Minimum 6 characters
  • At least 1 upper/lower mix
  • Cannot contain username
  • Cannot contain account code
  • Cannot match previous password

If your password is managed by your organization through Single Sign On (SSO) or Delegated Authentication (DA):

  • Seek help from your IT department

What is Single Sign On (SSO)?

Single sign on is a means for you to quickly log into Projector Web or Management Portal using a universal password for your organization. If your company uses SSO, you only need to fill out the username and account code on the login form. You'll be prompted to sign in with SSO. See Single Sign On (SSO) User Guide for screenshots and a full example.

What is Delegated Authentication (DA)?

Delegated authentication allows a company to use its own authentication system instead of Projector's. This is often referred to as Single Sign On (SSO) and allows your IT team to manage your username/password for many systems from one place. If your organization has DA enabled, then you won't be able to reset your password from Projector, rather you should contact your IT team for any authentication issues.

My credentials are invalid

You may see an error message when logging into the Projector Web or the Management Portal. These errors indicate a problem with your user credentials.

Question

Solutions

I forgot my password?See the next section of this help document, How do I reset my password?

Did you enter an account code?

Entering your account code will very often correct a login problem where 'The credentials you entered are not valid' message is seen

Is your account code correct?

Do you have a user setup in Projector?

Are you a new user of Projector? If so, has your administrator created your account yet?

Are your credentials correct?

If you are a new user double check with your Projector administrator that your email address and account code are correct

Is your account locked out?

After several unsuccessful login attempts Projector will lock your account as a security precaution against unauthorized use. There will be no notice that your account is locked. If feasible you can simply wait for the lock to pass or contact your Projector Administrator to manually reset your password.

Are you using delegated authentication?

If yes you may need to contact your company IT/Help desk folks for help. Delegated authentication uses an authentication system separate from Projector's. Therefore password resets will not work

Are you a new user whose account may have been created over 2 weeks ago?

When a new user is created the initial password is preset to expire in 2 weeks. If your admin created your account on June 3 anticipating your start on June 14 and you don't login to Projector until June 20 your password will have expired and you'll get the 'credentials you have entered are not valid' message. You will need your admin to reset your Projector password.
